There are so many fun and creative treats out there for Easter! If you think about it there are so many candies that cater to the Easter holiday with spring colors and egg shaped candies. It makes it easy for the treat-maker. The two treats I decided to try this year were Easter bark and carrot cake cupcakes. They came out so good! If you saw my St. Patrick’s Day Goodies post, I mentioned I did not have to materials to make the goody bags as planned. This time around, I did!
Easter Bark
This was super easy to make and really fun for June to get creative, by swirling the melted chocolate and decorating the bark with the candy. The recipe I used was from
The Sweetest Occasion. June and I picked the following candy to decorate the bark:
– Easter color M&M’s
– Easter color peanut M&M’s
– Robin Eggs Whoppers
– Easter themed sprinkles (Target)
Carrot Cake Nest Cupcakes
These cupcakes turned out so cute and they were delicious! The carrot cake recipe came from Tastes Better from Scratch. After the cupcakes were finished, I added some toasted coconut flakes and Easter peanut M&M’s to the top of the cupcake to make a bird nest. To toast the coconut, I added 2 cups of sweetened coconut flakes to a hot skillet and stir until lightly browned.
Treat Bags
For the treat bags, I used the following materials:
- Cellophane treat bags.
- Easter color curling ribbon
- Avery address labels – Print labels from the Avery site, by searching the label number and finding an Easter template. I wrote, “Happy Easter, Love June”.
In order to prepare the treat bags, I laid the bark down first to create a flat bottom in the cellophane bag to lay the cupcake on. Once the treats are in the bag, I tied the ribbon to close the bag. Place the label on the front of the bag.
